Rihanna goes native!
Always one of controversies, Rihanna has added another to her belt when she posted a series of photographs of herself wearing a Hijab and posing at an Abu Dhabi mosque.
Rihanna is in Abu Dhabi for a concert, and she seems to be at one with the local culture with her photographs. Her captions on instagram were “Bitch stole my look” and “Fashion killaz in Abu Dhabi” as she posed for photos in front of the stunning White Mosque in the cosmopolitan Gulf city, in addition to the pictures taken with Muslim women. On her visit to the Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, she wore a headscarf, heavy gold necklace and a black jumpsuit to cover her ankles and wrists.
The Mosque, which is open for non-Muslims to tour daily, is dubbed as the world’s biggest mosque.
Prisoners in UK prisons “forced” to convert to Islam
Prisoners have spoken of the reign of terror in some UK jails, with experts noting the bullying and intimidations the prisoners face in order to convert them into Islam.
A recent report from the Ministry of Justice found that the forced conversions and bullying were prevalent in Whitemoor Prison, Cambridge shire, which is home to approximately one-third of Muslim inmates.

There seems to be a shift in voting patterns as ethnic Turkish support for Angela Merkel’s party rose from 21.6% four years ago to 31% this year. This is according to a pre-election poll that was published by DTJ-Online, a news website aimed at Germany’s Turkish community.
Cemile Giousouf will join the Bundestag as the Christian Democratic Union’s first Muslim Member of parliament on October 22.
Saudi’s move mirrors the Muslim world view
The Saudi government’s decision to reject a two-year stint on the United Nations Security Council(UNSC) has been applauded by experts. The rejection comes after the belief that UNSC has failed to solve world conflicts including the Syrian crisis.
GCC secretary general, Abdullatif Al-Zayani said that the kingdom wants the UNSC to reform and fulfill its ordinance that is outlined in the UN Charter to maintain peace and security in the world. He said that the UNSC had failed to carry out its responsibilities on issues affecting Arab countries.
Morsi supporters dispersed near Muslim center of learning
Many supporters of the ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi clashed outside a prestigious Muslim institution and hurled stones, Egyptian riot hurled tear gas to disperse them.
The protests mark the second day of unrest at Al-Azhar University, Sunni Islam’s most prominent center of learning.
Strongholds of Morsi’s supporters are Al-Azhar’s students. The demonstrations come amid heated debate over a new law that would place new restrictions on demonstrators, which includes imposing heavy fines and possible jail time for the violators.
Former Anti-Islam advocate performs Hajj
Following his conversion to Islam about a year ago, Arnoud Van Doorn performed Hajj this year. Armoud, a former member of the Geert wilders racist Dutch party for freedom converted to Islam after propagating against the religion for years. The Dutch politician was once a harsh critic of Islam, even going as far as taking part in the production of a highly controversial anti-Islam film.
